About Us

    The ELCF was formed to bear witness to and uphold the Confessions of Faith of the ELCA and to stand against those teachings that would threaten to undermine these Confessions.
In response to the desperate times that we now face, the ELCF has adopted a threefold structure as a means of providing a more comprehensive orthodox witness. This structure now includes: ELCF board, ELCF chapters, and ELCF churches.
The aim of this structure is not to create a hierarchy where one group reports to another. But to recognize a functional interdependence that requires many hands working at different levels with the same values and goals in mind. So, while ELCF chapters and ELCF churches will essentially function independently of one another—steps will be made to provide avenues of communication for mutual support and coordinated efforts.
    In taking this approach, we hope to give place to the Holy Spirit—Who is a much better guide to His Church, and Whose aid is desperately needed in this day!
